澳洲永久居民身份能否取消？

如果是要撤销澳洲的永居身份，则没有正式的撤销手续。因为澳洲的永居身份就是一个签证，比如189签证。到期了自然时效了。There is no specific form to renounce an expired PR visa. Your inaction, combined with leaving Australia and not applying for a new travel facility, is sufficient. 

Steps to formally renounce an expired PR visa
1.Depart Australia: Leave Australia and do not seek to re-enter.  
2.Do not apply for an RRV: Do not apply for a Resident Return Visa, which would be the mechanism to reinstate your travel rights for your PR status.  
3.Understand the implications: Be aware that your permanent residency status, and any associated travel rights, will become inactive without further action from you. 

 

澳洲绿卡永居是一个5年的签证，可以在批签后的五年内自由出入澳大利亚。不仅如此，如果持有永居签证在”Must not arrive after date”这一天或之前在澳洲境内，只要之后不离境就可以永远在澳大利亚居住下去。简而言之，永居签证会到期的其实只是在澳洲的出入权 (Travel facility)。

那么，在5年永居签证的出入权到期之后，打算离开澳洲出境又该怎么办呢？5年到期之后，如果想继续自由进出澳洲，就必须申请155/157居民返程签证，俗称“续PR”。

155/157类居民返程签证 (RRV) 本质上是永居签证，允许签证持有人在澳洲永久居住。出入权 (Travel facility) 分五年（155）、一年（155）和三个月（157）三种。移民局批准哪一种居民返程签证，取决于申请人在澳洲的居住情况、与澳洲的联系（Ties）以及离开澳洲的时间长短和理由等因素。

If you leave Australia after your travel validity expires, or it expires when you are outside Australia, you will not be able to return to Australia as a permanent resident. This visa allows you to return as a permanent resident.

Be either：

an Australian Permanent resident
a former Australian permanent resident whose last permanent visa was not cancelled, or
a former Australian citizen who lost or renounced citizenship
也就是说，获得这个签证的前提是您已经是澳洲永久居民，这个签证主要是用于续签的。

 

 

签证过期时你人在澳洲境外,即使你是PR,也需要一个合法的travel facility返回澳洲,这时也需要申请RRV。
