Order forms for ordering documents at the registry office I in Berlin
The registry office I in Berlin can only issue civil status documents if

the civil status cases have occurred outside of the Federal Republic of Germany and the corresponding event has actually been recorded at the registry office I in Berlin,
there is a certification in the register and document collection maintained here from the former German eastern territories or in the consular and colonial registers maintained by registry office I in Berlin,
there is an entry in the civil partnership register, which has been kept since 2009.
When requesting your certificate, please note the applicable archiving periods 
- calculated from the day of certification - of 110 years for the birth register, 80 years for the marriage register and 30 years for the death register.

After these deadlines have expired, the corresponding registers are no longer located at the registry office I in Berlin, but are usually already at the Berlin State Archives. In archive cases, please send your order for documents directly to the

The fees are charged according to the relevant Berlin regulation (in the currently valid version). 
For the state of Berlin, a new “Ordinance to amend civil status regulations in the state of Berlin” has come into force. Part of this ordinance is a new fee schedule , which provides for new fee facts and fee rates. Therefore, in the future, a fee of EUR 30.00 can be charged for searching the registry and document collection (in addition to the previous search fees).

You will always receive an invoice for the fee when the desired certificate is sent. Depending on the amount of the fee, an advance payment may also be required. 
Payment by foreign check, PayPal or credit card is not possible.
